For 5 years, I’ve been taking college students on mission in various parts of the world. We’ve seen God work in Tanzania, Peru and Mexico. One week from today, I’ll be leading the first half of the largest mission team in Dakota Wesleyan’s history! It is awesome to be a part of the story God is working out through DWU and the people here. I love it when I see students say yes when God asks them to do some risky and adventurous things! You can see the full name of participants here.
The statistics above represent not only God’s blessing on our trip but the hard work of the entire team and the faithfulness of more than 5,000 people in the Dakotas and around the country. Without their prayer and financial support, we would not be doing Kingdom work next week on a different part of the globe!
As we have access to the Internet in Peru, I’ll be posting updates here of how God is using regular people to do extraordinary things in the world. Check back every so often!
So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you (Romans 12:1-2 The Message).
